Description
This stunning specimen is called Glendonite. Glendonite is a type of pseudomorph, where one mineral’s shape is taken over by another mineral. Here, Ikaite, which is extremely unstable at pressures above ground, has been taken over by Calcite. Ikaite is only ever seen as a pseudomorph and is rare even then.
Glendonite is believed to be a stone of learning, discovery, and understanding. It is thought to assist in healing broken bones and abrasions, regenerating cells, and strengthening bones and teeth.
This Glendonite specimen weighs approximately 40 to 80 grams and measures approximately 4 to 8cm across. Each specimen is unique. Product may not be exactly as shown in photo; picture is a typical example.
